PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping steel sheet capable of maintaining damping performance for a long period. SOLUTION: This damping steel sheet 1 comprises two steel sheets 2 and 3 and a damping resin layer 4 and a resin leak preventive member 5 sandwiched therebetween. The damping resin layer 4 and the resin leak prevention member 5 are positioned at the center part and the overall edge part of the damping steel sheet 1. Since the damping resin layer sandwiched between the two steel sheets is formed of an organic high polymer material having a loss tangent (tanδ) peak value of 1.5 or more, the damping steel sheet with high loss factor can be manufactured. Also, since the resin leak preventive member is interposed between the two steel sheets at least at the overall edge parts of the steel sheets, even if the damping resin layer is formed of a soft resin to increase the loss tangent value, there is no possibility of protrusion of the resin from the edge part of the steel sheets.
