PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel filler pipe for automobile which can ensure sealability when a slack is generated at a caulking joint between a pipe body and a retainer by the application of a large deformation load to the joint. SOLUTION: For this fuel filler pipe f for automobile, the retainer which is inserted in the pipe body made of metal is fixed to the pipe body by applying caulking. In the fuel filler pipe f, a protruding line section 5 which protrudes extending to the whole of the inner periphery is formed in a vicinity of an opening end 1a in the pipe body 1. The retainer 10 made of a metal has a step section 15 which is formed in a manner to face the protruding line section of the pipe body, and at the same time, is provided in such a manner that the diameter is contracted from the step section 15 to the internal end 11a. The peripheral edge section 13 of the retainer 10 which is inserted in the pipe body 1 is folded back on the outside of the opening end 1a of the pipe body, and caulking is applied. At the same time, a sealer 20 is inserted in a gap which is generated between the protruding line section of the pipe body and the step section of the retainer, and thus, the fuel filler pipe for automobile is constituted in a manner to keep sealability between the pipe body 1 and the retainer 10.
