In a display device, when no light comes onto the front of an electrophoresis display body ("yes" in step S102), all the pixels of the electrophoresis display body become white (step S103). Accordingly, when the front of the electrophoresis display body is placed on the contact glass of a copying machine in order to copy the content displayed on the electrophoresis display body, the whole content displayed on the electrophoresis display body is erased and it is possible to prevent easy copying of the content displayed on the electrophoresis display body by the copying machine.
