PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor capable of preventing contact weld due to arc generation caused by an overcurrent, having a simple structure and easy to handle. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic contactor is provided with: a pair of fixed contact shoes 3 each having a fixed contact 4 and fixed to a case 2 by being separated from each other at a predetermined distance; a movable contact shoe 8 having, at both ends, a pair of movable contacts 7 contacting to or separating from the respective fixed contacts; a contact spring 9 engaging with the center part of the movable contact shoe at one end for pressing the movable contact shoe against the fixed contact shoes; a contact shoe support body 6 for supporting the other end of the contact spring and the center part of the movable contact shoe; an electromagnetic actuation device 10 installed in the case, connected to the contact shoe support body for causing the movable contact shoe to contact to or separate from the fixed contact shoes through the contact shoe support body and the contact spring; and a stopper 16 for restricting inclination of the movable contact shoe.
