PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which has no influence on the mounting and design aspects by utilizing the rotation of a rotary shaft for input. SOLUTION: The portable terminal comprises a first frame 10 having a display 12, a second frame 20 having an operating unit 22 for inputting a first input signal, a rotator 3a for coupling the first and second frames 10, 20, and a rotary input unit 4 for inputting a signal obtained from the rotating direction and the rotation quantity of the rotator 3a as a second input signal.
