PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent appearance abnormality occurring in an optical fiber by effectively preventing a resin from retaining at the exit of a die without installing unnecessary equipment. SOLUTION: The resin coating apparatus for an optical fiber to coat the surface of an optical fiber with a resin by passing the optical fiber 1 downward through a forming hole 3a of a coating die 3. The coating die 3 of the resin coating apparatus is provided with a conical projection 3c protruding from the coating die 3 along the passing direction of the optical fiber, and the exit in an external air side of the forming hole 3a is formed in the conical projection 3c.
