PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat tube for a heat exchanger, having improved pressure proofing strength and a reduced thickness by actualizing gentle temperature rise of a partition part of the flat tube during brazing. SOLUTION: The partition part consists of a pair of first bent portions 6, 6 formed mutually abutting back to back by bending a metal plate 2 at both edges in the direction of the thickness, a pair of second bent portions 7, 7 turned around from the first bent portions 6, 6 in the direction of the thickness in the state of continuously contacting the inner face of a plane portion 3b, and a pair of third bent portions 8, 8 turned around from the second bent portions 7, 7 in the direction of the thickness in the state of continuously contacting the first bent portions 6, 6 corresponding thereto. As a result, the partition part permeated with a distributed brazing filler material has temperature rise more gentle than other parts, and it is prevented from being fused.
