Energy management of the IC engine and electrical motor of a hybrid road vehicle conserves energy

The hybrid vehicle has an IC engine [2] and an electrical motor [3] coupled to a transmission [4]. A controller[7] regulates the clutch [5] between the two drives. Electrical energy is stored [8,11] in batteries having different levels. During a stopping period the engine is turned off to conserve energy and the electrical energy used.
