<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a rise in temperature of a signal electrode driver of a driving device of an organic EL display device. <P>SOLUTION: A power circuit 5 outputs a source voltage V<SB>in</SB>to the signal electrode driver 4. A temperature sensor 4a of the signal electrode driver 4 detects the temperature of the signal electrode driver 4 itself reaching the upper limit of operation guaranteeing temperature of the signal electrode driver 4. The signal electrode driver 4 drives a display panel 1 so that a constant current flows from a signal electrode where a pixel to illuminate is present to a selected row scanning electrode before the temperature sensor 4a detects the temperature.
