PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium primary battery having a long preservation life. SOLUTION: This lithium primary battery is equipped with a separator 9, a negative electrode active material layer 5 and a positive electrode active material layer 6 mutually separated by the separator 9, a pair of frame-like sheet members 2, 3 to individually surround these electrode active material layers 5, 6 on the main surface of the separator, and a pair of collectors 7, 8 fixed to each of the frame-like sheet members 2, 3 to hold the electrode active material layers 2, 3 between the separator and them. The negative electrode active material layer 5 is formed of lithium foil. A frame-like wall member 10 is disposed between the frame-like sheet member 3 on the positive electrode side and the positive electrode active material layer 6, and the visible outline 6p of the positive electrode active material layer 6 is housed in the inside of the visible outline 5p of the lithium foil 5, in a projection drawing in the battery thickness direction.
