<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing load and to make it easy to evaluate categorization accuracy as to a target categorizing device for categorizing the kind of a target based on range profile data on the target acquired by a radar device. <P>SOLUTION: Target detection data are detected having the n-th (n = 1 to N) largest peak amplitude value from the amplitude values of peaks that form crests among a group of target detection data belonging to one target detected from a radar reception signal. On the basis of the amplitude value and distance of target detection data having the first peak amplitude value, normalization is performed for finding relative amplitude values and relative distances of detection data on the second to n-th targets, and further aspect angle correction is performed. As to the relative amplitude values and relative distances of the respective peaks, correlation processing is performed with a database held in a memory. Relative amplitude values and relative distances of the respective peaks observed are outputted as categorization data together with categorization results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
