PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of a temperature droop phenomenon correspondingly to speed-up of an image forming apparatus and to shorten warm-up time as much as possible. SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 60 for fixing a toner image carried on paper P is provided with: a halogen heater 66; a fixing roll 61 on which a heat resisting elastic layer 612 is arranged; and an endless belt 62 forming a nip part N through which the paper P passes while pressing it with contact with the fixing roll 61. The fixing roll 61 is molded by blending a heat conductivity providing agent and low melting point metallic alloy particles with silicon rubber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
