PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support device of a display device, which is compact and is capable of stably supporting a heavy display panel and have shafts and movable parts prevented from being deformed/broken regardless of swing operation or application of an unreasonable load. SOLUTION: A main shaft support structure is provided in a stand member of the support device of the display device, which is provided with; a bracket member for attaching the display device; the stand member stood on an installation surface with a base plate between them; a friction plate interposed between the stand member and the bracket member; a main shaft which forms a horizontal turning shaft of the display device and pierces the bracket member, the friction plate, and the stand member; and a spring member which is inserted to the main shaft so as to press the stand member and the bracket member. The main shaft support structure receives and freely turnably supports the main shaft at a height higher than at least an axial part length L' from the main shaft support structure 101 to the bracket member 50.
