PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a visual recognition of the state of beam pitch between light sources in a main scanning direction and to suppress variance due to mechanical accuracy. SOLUTION: In a multibeam scanner comprising a multibeam light source units in which the relative positions of a plurality of light sources and coupling lenses are adjusted and held, a deflector which deflects a plurality of luminous fluxes emitted from the coupling lenses, a scanning optical system which guides the beams from the deflector onto a face to be scanned, and case which houses the above described components so as to keep the relative positions of the deflector, the scanning optical system and the multibeam light source units, the state of the beam pitch between the light sources in the main scanning direction on the face to be scanned is outputted as a picture image which is visually recognized.
