PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record prescribed data in a recording medium without reducing a usable recording area. SOLUTION: Directory entry related to the file which stores real data recorded in a data area of a hard disk is recorded in a route directory entry area of the hard disk. When the real data are recorded for every cluster which is a recording unit in the data area, a remaining area, which is the area not secured as a cluster at the partition of the hard disk and is not the subject of the control of a file system, is detected by a remaining area detecting section 501. A data writing section 503 controls the recording into the remaining area of prescribed data, for example, back-up data of the directory entry stored in the route directory entry area.
