DATA STORAGE DEVICE AND MAGNETIC DISK DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device and a magnetic disk drive, of which a hermetical sealing property in a base can be maintained. SOLUTION: This data storage device is equipped with: a recording disk 110; the base 120 having a through-hole 121; a top cover 130 having a tapping hole 131 aligned with the through-hole 121 and a recessed part 132 wherein the tapping hole 131 is formed at the bottom; and a screw 140 furnished with a head 141 closely in contact with an outside surface of the base 120 while being screwed together with the tapping hole 131 passing through the through-hole 121. The top cover 130 is engaged with the inside of the base 120 in the state the recessed part 132 is arranged at the side of base 120, and the bottom of the recessed part 132 is closely in contact with the base 120 on an area surrounding the through-hole 121 in such a state that the screw 140 is screwed together therewith.
