PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-water separator having a simple structure and less parts that can separate oil and water by a simple action of opening/closing a drain passage directly by floating/sinking of a float itself serving as a valve element. SOLUTION: A spherical float valve 21 the specific gravity of which is set between water and oil is arranged in the drain passage 16 of a vertical drain pipe 13 installed in a container 12, and engages directly a valve port 20 for opening/closing. When the spherical float valve is submerged in water of an oil-water mixture, the spherical float valve is designed to float and open the valve port due to specific gravity difference between the valve and water, and when the spherical float valve is submerged in oil of the oil-water mixture, the spherical float valve is designed to sink and close the valve port due to specific gravity difference between the valve and oil.
