PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical hollow fiber membrane type hemocatharsis apparatus having superior safety and module assembling property, used for the treatment of the chronic renal failure and having high water permeability. SOLUTION: This hemocatharsis apparatus is formed by housing the hollow fiber membrane composed of polysulfone-based polymer mainly containing hydrophilic polymer, the thickness of the hollow fiber membrane is 10-60μm, the outer surface aperture rate is 8-25%, the thickness deviation is 0.6 or more, the abundance of the hydrophilic polymer in the outer surface is 25-50 mass%, the elution of the hydrophilic polymer from the hollow fiber membrane is 10 ppm or less, the burst pressure of the hollow fiber membrane is 0.5-2.0 MPa or more, and the unevenness of the hollow fiber membrane per 0.1 mm in the length is 0.5μm or less. This high performance hollow fiber membrane type hemocatharsis apparatus is characterized in that the water permeability of the hemocatharsis apparatus is 150-2,000 mL/m<SP>2</SP>/hr/mmHg or more.
