PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an allergen inhibitory compound enabling allergen to be effectively inhibited without substantially staining or damaging the surface of allergen-stuck daily goods. SOLUTION: The allergen inhibitory compound consists of such an aromatic hydroxy compound as to have an alicyclic structure on the main chain of a chain polymer. By feeding this compound to an allergen object, allergen inhibitory effect can be imparted on the object under ordinary humidities in daily life without impairing its appearance regardless of its color.
