PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work picking device and a work picking method capable of eliminating various problems in increasing a cycle speed of the whole device. SOLUTION: This work picking device comprises a rotatably picking mechanism for transferring a work in order to a predetermined pick position by receiving the work picked with every one piece from the tip of a slantingly arranged rail. The rotatably picking mechanism is arranged one by one in a relatively symmetrical position with the table rotational center as a reference on a rotatably picking table arranged in response to a tip position of the rail, and is densely incorporated in a state of butting mutual rear end surface and side end surface, and has four picking stages 21a to 21d successively arranged in a connecting position connected to the tip of the rail and a pick position set by dislocating a table rotational phase by a predetermined angle from the connecting position by rotational operation of the rotatably picking table.
