PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a sheet stably despite a long transport path by preventing the sheet transported from skewing and correcting the skew of the sheet even if the constitution is such that a plurality of sheet feed devices are arranged in line. SOLUTION: The sheet feed device is equipped with an ejection part 7 to eject the sheet S onto the transport path R and a receptacle part 10 able to be coupled with the ejection part 7 freely and receiving the sheet S from outside, and the transport path R is furnished thereon with a pickup roller 3, feed roller 4, reverse roller 5, and transport roller 6 for transporting the uppermost sheet S in a sheet bundle placed on a placing plate 2 to an image forming device 100 via the transport path R, and when the transport of the sheet is to be started, the rotation of the transport roller is started a certain time after the rotations of the pickup roller 3, feed roller 4, and reverse roller 5 are started.
