PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving straightness during vehicle travel and maintaining the tire performance on a wet road surface. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic tire 1, a belt layer 4 formed on the outer periphery of a carcass 3 in the tire peripheral direction comprises belt plies 41 and 42 formed of arranged belt cords. The belt cords of the belt plies 41 and 42 are arranged while the cord direction is inclined to the tire rotating direction. A plurality of main grooves 51 are formed in a tread section 5, ribs/blocks 53 formed of the main grooves 51 have a narrow groove (s) in its tread, and the narrow groove (s) is formed inclinedly with respect to the groove depth direction in the sectional view in the tire meridian direction. The inclination of the narrow groove (s) is determined so that the reaction force generated by the inclination of the narrow groove (s) acts in the direction of canceling a deflection force generated by the inclination of the cord direction of the belt plies 41 and 42 in grounding of the ribs/blocks 53.
