Recirculating assembly for a fuel cell system

There is described a recirculating assembly (4) for a fuel cell system (1) having an electrochemical conversion unit (2) which receives a combustible fluid at the inlet, and supplies electric energy, surplus combustible fluid, and a waste fluid at the outlet. The recirculating assembly (4) has a compressor (12) for increasing the pressure of the surplus combustible fluid not used by the conversion unit (2), so as to make it once more available to the conversion unit (2); and a turbine (11) for driving the compressor (12) and powered by the residual energy in the waste fluid from the conversion unit (2).
