<p>The assembly consists of a wheel with a one-piece rim and a tyre that is inflated to a pressure of over 9 bars and has a relative flexure under load of greater than 30 per cent. The wheel rim seats for the tyre beads have a slope of more than 5 degrees and preferably below 15 degrees, and the tyre beads can move out of round and are able to warp. The tyre has circumferential reinforcing elements (6, 7) extending from one bead (4) to the other and positioned radially in its side walls (3); they are anchored in the tyre beads by bundles of twisted cables (9) on either side, separated by a rubber mixture (10) that prevents direct contact between reinforcing elements. The rubber mixture has a rigidity such that its modulus of extension at 10 per cent deformation is between 10 and 20 MPa.</p> |
