<p>Dinuclear transition metal complexes (I) are new. Dinuclear transition metal complexes (I) are new. M 1, M 2group 3-11 transition metals, A1 or B1; L1-L4 : N, P, S, O, C, Si, Se, As or Sb; A1, A2 : groups and/or atoms that centers L1 with L2 and L3 with L4, respectively over a covalent bond and optionally further contains coordinating groups for M 1 and M 2; B1 : group that connects the center L2 with L3 together electronically over a covalent bond; m1, m2 : 1-6; Q : 1-6 ligand (bound to M 1 and M 2) of monoanionic, dianionic or neutral ligands; k 1>0 - s 1>-1 (where s 1> is valence of L1); k 2>0 - s 2>-2 (where s 2> is valence of L2); k 3>0 - s 3>-3 (where s 3> is valence of L3); k 4>0 - s 4>-4 (where s 4> is valence of L4); R : hydride, 1-20C alkyl, 1-20C alkenyl, 5-20C cycloalkyl, 6-20C aryl, 1-20C heteroaryl, alkylaryl (having 1-20C in alkyl and 6-20C in aryl), -OD 1>, -ND 2>D 3>, PD 6>D 7>D 8> or -BD 9>D 10>; and D 1>-D 3>, D 6>-D 10>H, 1-20C alkyl, 5-20C cycloalkyl, 5-20C aryl, alkylaryl (having 1-20C in alkyl and 6-20C in aryl) or arylalkyl (having 1-20C alkyl and 6-20C aryl). Independent claims are also included for: (1) the preparation of (I); (2) an intermediate obtained by reaction of (I) with an acid or a base; (3) preparation of homo-, co- and/or oligo-polymers comprising reacting (I) or the intermediate with olefinic monomers; (4) polymers obtained by the method; and (5) shaped articles obtained by the processing of the polymers.
