MODULARLY BUILT HIGH-TEMPERATURE FUEL CELL SYSTEM

High temperature fuel cell system comprises planar high temperature fuel cell stack and at least one extra component directly fitted on side of stack, on which are located operational feed and discharge members. Cell stack and extra component preferably have matching outer geometry especially identical size with respect to adjacent surfaces. Extra component may contain separate coupling plate, via which it is located on cell stack, with plate containing direct feed of gases from cell to component and vice versa. Independent claims are included for method for operation of fuel cell stack with after burner and heat exchanger.
