PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer, preventing unpleasant back blowing from an opening part, and scattering of water drops, and having excellent drying performance. SOLUTION: This hand drier includes: a box-shaped body casing having a built-in motor-driven blower; a hand drying chamber provided in the body casing to dry hands; the opening part provided in the front of the body casing to insert the hands in the hand drying chamber; and a nozzle for blowing an air flow supplied from the motor-driven blower toward the hands inserted in the hand drying chamber. A ventilation port is provided at a part of the body casing constituting the right and left side surfaces of the hand drying chamber, and a water intercepting means for inhibiting passing of water drops is provided at least in a part of the ventilating port.
