PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition having excellent ozone deterioration resistance and crack propagation resistance and preventing the worsening of rolling resistance of a tire by using the composition as the side wall of the tire. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is produced by compounding 100 pts. mass of a rubber component composed of a diene rubber with 0.5-10 pts. mass of short fibers having protrusions on the surface,≥3 pts. mass of an aging resistor and 0-5 pts. mass of a wax. The short fibers preferably have an average diameter of 0.05-20μm and an average length of 10-2,000μm, the height of the protrusion is preferably≥0.005μm and the density of the protrusions is preferably≥1 per 1μm of the length of the short fiber.
