Composition (I) for the treatment of human keratinous fibers, comprises at least a compound (A) (ethylenediamine-N-N'-disuccinic acid, and/or its salts), and at least a reducing agent (B). Independent claims are also included for: (1) a process of discoloration/deformation of human keratinous fibers, comprising contacting (I) with the fibers to obtain the desired effect; and (2) device with several compartments for the implementation of the process, comprising a first compartment containing (B) and a second compartment containing a pH regulating agent, where (A) is either in the first and/or the second compartment, or in a third compartment.
