PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure controllability required at the minimum for an apparatus powered by a battery, by suppressing the expansion of voltage dispersion of each prescribed cell inside a battery, even if faults occur to the voltage equalizer of the battery. SOLUTION: If a fault occurs to the voltage equalizer with remaining capacity, power capacity and failure signals all inputted; and if the remaining capacity SOC is not close to 50%, forcible charging and discharging control of the battery is started to converge it into around SOC=50% (S3). If the remaining capacity SOC is around 50%, the upper and lower limits of the remaining capacity are set (S4). Then, chargeable and dischargeable capacity is set from an operation value of the power capacity (S5) and outputted as limiter values (S6). This enables the apparatus to be surely shifted to a fail-safe control reliably, while protecting the battery so that safety can be secured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
