PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a haptic force application type input device for reducing the influence of the delay of the control of a resistance force to be applied to an operation part on the resistance contact of the operation part just after the change of a rotating speed. SOLUTION: This haptic force application type input device is provided with a power application means 7 which applies the torque of a motor 8 to an operation part 6, a movable part 14 which operates according to the rotation of the operation part 6, a controller 60 which calculates the rotating speed of the operation part 6 from the change of the angle of rotation detected by a rotary encoder 18, and controls the motor 8 according to the rotating speed in order to control a resistance force to be applied to the operation part 6 according to the rotating speed of the operation part 6, the movable part 14 fixed to the operation part 6 which rotates with the operation part 6, a front cover 12 mounted on the front side of a power application means 7, and equipped with a cylindrical part 12A where a cylindrical part 14A of the movable part 6 slides in contact and grease 50 packed between the cylindrical part 14A and the cylindrical part 14B which generates a viscous resistance to the movable part 14.
