PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication module capable of reducing signal distortion in using a multimode laser beam, as well as reducing signal quality deterioration due to positional deviation between an optical fiber and a light-emitting element, and to provide an optical communications system and electronic equipment which use the module. SOLUTION: The optical module is equipped with a light-emitting element 13 that oscillates a multimode laser beam and a repeater waveguide 21, that is arranged on the optical axis between the light-emitting element 13 and a waveguide 19 through which the laser beam from the light-emitting element 13 propagates and that is designed to relay optical coupling there between. In this optical module, the repeater waveguide 21 is structured such that the core part 24 is surrounded with a clad part 26, and that a stepwise refractive index distribution is formed between the core part 24 and the clad part 26.
