PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique or the like capable of effectively restraining evaporation of moisture in a medium stored or held in a reaction area. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a substrate 1 or the like for bioassay added with thixotropic gel or/and volume phase transition gel in a medium M stored or held in the reaction area 2 for providing an interaction field between substances, a method for restraining the evaporation of the moisture in the medium M by adding the thixotropic gel or/and volume phase transition gel in the medium M, a method for transporting the the medium M to the reaction area for providing the interaction field between the substances, using gel-sol transition of the thixotropic gel or/and volume phase transition gel, and a method for pressurization-dropping the the medium M containing the thixotropic gel or/and volume phase transition gel to the reaction area for providing the interaction field between the substances.
