PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control rod for a fast reactor capable of discharging smoothly a coolant in a clad tube when extracting the control rod from the coolant, of course, and capable of precluding a shroud tube from being deformed locally by a small cracked piece of a pellet for absorbing neutron, in addition thereto. SOLUTION: In this control rod 1 for the fast reactor of the present invention wherein control element 3 is constituted inside the clad tube to hold the shroud tubes 6 for storing the pellet 5 for absorbing the neutron, with a space, and wherein the plurality of control elements 3 are stored in the storage tube 3, the pellet 5 for absorbing the neutron is brought into close contact conformedly with an inner circumferential face shape of the shroud tube 6, and coolant flow passages 16, 20-22 are formed in a plurality of circumferential-directional portions, ranging over from one end of the shroud tube 6 to the other end thereof, between the shroud tube 6 and the the clad tube 7, with a space wider than the space between the both tubes.
