PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation efficiency (energy efficiency) by reducing compression work without increasing the use of electric power, in an engine heat pump. SOLUTION: The engine heat pump has a main compressor 2 driven by an engine 4, an auxiliary compressor 3, an indoor heat exchanger 8, an outdoor heat exchanger 5, an expansion valve 23 for the indoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve 21 for the outdoor heat exchanger and a supercool heat exchanger 15 for supercooling liquid refrigerator before being branched by liquid refrigerator for supercooling to be branched into a branch routes 27 (27a, 27b) provided at a liquid refrigerator flow route (a main route 26) of connection routes between the indoor heat exchanger 8 and the outdoor heat exchanger 5. In the engine heat pump, the refrigerant discharged from the auxiliary compressor 3 is mixed with refrigerant discharged from the main compressor 2. The engine heat pump is structured so that the liquid refrigerator for supercooling is compressed by the auxiliary compressor 3 and volume ratio (auxiliary compressor volume ratio R) of the auxiliary compressor 3 for total volume of the main compressor 2 and the auxiliary compressor 3 is 20 to 29%.
