PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water electrolysis apparatus which compacts a water electrolysis facility and improves house efficiency. SOLUTION: The water electrolysis apparatus has a purification layer 13 for purifying circulating water 12, which is provided in the main body 11 of a vessel; a partition plate 25 which hangs down from a top part 11a of the main body 11 of the vessel, and separates the inside of the main body 11 of the vessel into a first chamber 14-1 and a second chamber 14-2; a water electrolysis stack 15 for electrolyzing the circulating water to generate hydrogen and oxygen; a water supply pipe 17 for supplying purified circulating water 16 to the water electrolysis stack 15; a first feeding pipe 19-1 for feeding a double layer flow 18-1 of hydrogen/water rising from the water electrolysis stack 15 to the first chamber 14-1; a second feeding pipe 19-2 for feeding a double layer flow 18-2 of oxygen/water rising from the water electrolysis stack 15 to the second chamber 14-2; a hydrogen-discharging portion 20 for discharging hydrogen from the first room 14-1; and an oxygen-discharging portion 21 for discharging oxygen from the second chamber 14-2; wherein the circulating water 12 to be supplied to the water electrolysis stack 15 is naturally circulated while being purified.
