PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a non-washed part at a rear surface of a vehicle as much as possible without interfering a side brush to an attachment existing at the rear surface of the vehicle in a car washing machine. SOLUTION: In the car washing machine 10, a control means 20 is provided. In the control means 20, in the case where the rear surface of the vehicle 1 is washed by the side brush 12, when the attachment does not exist at the rear surface of the vehicle 1, the side brush 12 is rotated at high speed, is positioned at a working position for press-contacting with the rear surface of the vehicle 1 and is transversely moved along the rear surface of the vehicle 1. When the attachment exists at the rear surface of the vehicle 1, the side brush 12 is rotated at low speed, is positioned at the working position for press-contacting with the rear surface of the vehicle 1 and is transversely moved along the rear surface of the vehicle 1.
