PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst material capable of enhancing catalytic activity at a lower temperature than before.

SOLUTION: The catalyst material 1 is constituted by supporting catalytic metal particles 4a and 4b on the surface of a porous carrier 3 having honeycomb-like pores 2 almost uniform in pore size and pore interval and opened to the surface thereof or in the skeleton of the porous carrier 3.
