PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine in earlier stage that a vehicle makes the transition to an understeer state, and stabilize the vehicle behavior during turning based on the determination. SOLUTION: The predetermined limit roll angleϕ<SB>LMT</SB>¾μfor a vehicle is compared to the actual roll angleϕactually detected with a roll angle sensor Sd based on the lateral acceleration G for the vehicle detected with a lateral acceleration sensor Se and an estimated road surface friction coefficientμ. Since it is determined the understeer when the actual roll angleϕexceeds the limit roll angleϕ<SB>LMT</SB>¾μ, it is possible to determine at an early stage that the vehicle becomes the understeer before it actually becomes understeer. Since the roll rigidity of the rear wheels WRL, WRR sides is increased by regulating the torsion of a stabilizer 10 at the rear wheels WRL, WRR side with an actuator 11 when the understeer is determined, the understeer can be prevented by increasing the ground load of the turning outer wheel of the rear wheels WRL, WRR and sliding it to the turning direction outer side.
