PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a 1-(nitroaryl)alkylamine by simply reducing an oxime derivative of a nitroaryl alkyl ketone. SOLUTION: The method for producing the 1-(nitroaryl)alkylamine represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>denotes independently a 1-10C alkyl group in which 1-5 hydrogen atoms in the alkyl group represented by R<SP>1</SP>may be substituted by 1-5 substituents; and Ar denotes a 6-14C arylene group in which 1-5 hydrogen atoms in the arylene group may be substituted by 1-5 substituents) is carried out as follows. The oxime derivative of the nitroaryl alkyl ketone represented by formula (2) äwherein, R<SP>1</SP>has the same meaning as in formula (1); R<SP>2</SP>denotes independently a 1-10C alkyl group in which 1-5 hydrogen atoms in the alkyl group represented by R<SP>2</SP>may be substituted by 1-5 substituents; and Ar has the same meaning as in formula (1)} is reduced with an alkali borohydride in the presence of an acid additive.
