PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector or the like which facilitates compensation with respect to individual dispersion. SOLUTION: The position detector 10A is provided with a magnet 1, a pair of Hall devices 2a and 2b, and a processing circuit 3 for detecting the relative position between the magnet 1 and the pair of Hall devices 2a and 2b. The processing circuit 3 controls input values for the Hall devices 2a and 2b so that the sum of the sizes of respective output values of the Hall devices 2a and 2b is made at a constant value, and detects the difference between the sizes of the output values of one pair of the Hall devices 2a and 2b, as the positional output.
