摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle condition sensing device capable of sensing an unstable condition of the vehicle behavior or its preliminary indication accurately even when the gripping force of a tire has lowered. SOLUTION: The vehicle condition sensing device is to sense the vehicle condition using the alignment torque Ta given from the road surface and the side slip angleβ. The torque vs. slip angle characteristic is such that the alignment torque is proportional to the side slip angle when the latter remains small, but the alignment torque decreases with increasing side slip angle. Using this characteristic, the criterion value is determined from the linear gradient and side slip angle in the region the side slip angle is small, and an enlarging deviation from the actual measurement should result in a determination that a behavior unstable condition exists. Also the unstable condition is determined in case the gradient of the alignment torque relative to the side slip angle differs largely from the gradient of an approximated straight line.
