PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element preventing lowering of contrast on effective light emission from a light-emitting part. SOLUTION: The display element is composed of: light-emitting parts 120 supplying light formed on a standard plane SS; and an angle conversion part 110 having reflection faces 205 around the light-emitting parts 120, converting the angle of the light from the light-emitting part 120 and emitting it by reflecting the light incident from the light-emitting part 120 toward the reflection faces 205. A conditional formula: äasin (1/n)}/2+π/4<θ<π/2, is fulfilled, wherein, an angle between the reflection face 205 and the standard plane SS isθ(radian), and a refractive index of the material constituting the angle conversion part 110 is n.
