PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorization filter medium with excellent filtering function and deodorization performance particularly preferably used as toilet sand for a companion animal used for excretion handling implement for the companion animal. SOLUTION: The deodorization filter medium is characterized in that it contains a particular molding body of a heat-treated substance of acidic white clay and a basic component capturing agent and is surface-treated by a hydrophobizing agent.
