PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attaching method for a quake-absorbing isolator capable of increasing the quake-absorbing effect and of permitting easy replacement of the quake-absorbing isolator. SOLUTION: This attaching method is capable of floating each isolator installed to the respective end portion of a building during a serious earthquake thereby replacing the kinetic energy with the potential energy for absorbing the quake more easily. Each isolator comprises an upper flange 1, a lower flange 2 and a multilayer rubber 3, and the lower flange 2 is held in a freely slidable manner by rings 5 fitted to a groove 6a of a base plate 6 thereby making it easier to perform isolator replacing work.
