PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension transmitting type high load transmission belt and its block capable of satisfying a condition required for the high load transmission belt on a high level, by providing sufficient strength even when rotating at a high speed, by reducing block weight. SOLUTION: This high load transmission belt 1 is composed of center belts 3a and 3b and a plurality of blocks 2 arranged at a predetermined pitch in the longitudinal direction of the center belts 3a and 3b. The belt is formed by arranging a thermoplastic resin composition A unblended with whiskers on a contact surface with the center belts 3a and 3b of the blocks 2, and arranging a thermoplastic resin composition B blended with a fiber reinforcing material and the whiskers on a contact surface with a pulley. A rate occupied by the thermoplastic resin composition A in the whole area of the contact surface with the center belts 3a and 3b of the blocks 2 and a rate occupied by the thermoplastic resin composition B in the whole area of the contact surface with the pulley of the blocks 2, are respectively set to 70 % or more.
