PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a conductive polymer having an excellent stretching ratio per 1 oxidation reduction cycle, and a method for electrolytically stretching and contracting, excellent in stretching ratio per 1 oxidation reduction cycle. SOLUTION: This method for producing the conductive polymer by using an electrolytic polymerization method is provided by using an electrolytic liquid containing a perfluoroalkylsulfonylimide ion expressed by formula (1): (C<SB>n</SB>F<SB>(2n+1)</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)(C<SB>m</SB>F<SB>(2m+1)</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)N<SP>-</SP>[wherein, (n), (m) are each an optional integer], and also the method for electrolytically stretching and contracting by using the conductive polymer-molded article containing the conductive polymer obtained from the production method is provided.
