PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superplastic forming method for a tailored blank, by which a product having a hollow overhang part is easily and efficiently manufactured so as to be lightweight, and which prevents reduction in the strength of the product due to the removal of the overhang part, which is caused by external force in using the product. SOLUTION: The method comprises: a step, wherein a tailored blank 10 is prepared in such a way that the peripheral edge of a 2nd member 14 of a non-superplastic material, which is overlapped on a desired portion of the plane of a 1st member 12 of a superplastic material and has a desired shape, is fixed integrally to the plane, and wherein a through hole 14a communicating to a gap between the above desired portion of the 1st member and the overlapped 2nd member is formed; and a step, wherein the tailored blank is formed into a desired overhang shape according to the desired shape of the inner surface of the die space of a superplastic forming die in such a way that the tailored blank is subjected to superplastic forming in the die space of the superplastic forming die and the above desired portion of the 1st member is overhanged so as to be distant from the overlapped 2nd member.
