PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high accuracy optical unit which is free of deterioration of resolution and image quality caused by birefringence and color aberration or the like, even if the unit is constituted of only plastic lenses. SOLUTION: The optical unit is provided with at least one plastic lens having Abbe's number of 50 to 60, and at least one polycarbonate lens which is constituted by using at least one kind of compound selected out of zinc compound, tin compound, lead compound, zirconium compound and hafnium compound and carrying out melt polycondensation while using pentacyclo pentadecane dimethanol shown by prescribed structural units (A) and/or (B), or further diol shown by a prescribed structural unit (C) and carbonate as catalyst.
