PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine resolving problems due to weight and water absorption as is in the conventional art and realizing high heat conduction of a head section. SOLUTION: The piston for the internal combustion engine has a SiC heat transfer body (120) passing through from a top surface (110S) to a rear surface (110R) of a head of the Al alloy piston (110), wherein a rear surface (120R) of the SiC heat transfer body is cooled with a cooling oil jet (134), the SiC heat transfer body (120) is coated with an Ag layer (126) and the SiC heat transfer body (120) and the Al alloy head (110) are joined through the Ag layer (126).
